Metalfest/Metalcamp Battle concert (both festivals are usually held in Southeast Europe region, Austria, Italy, Slovenia etc.) was held last Friday in Zagreb (Croatia). A great idea: gather 6 local bands, put them on stage to play, then choose one (or two in this particular event) as a winner(s) and send them to those festivals as official performers lineup. Such a great entrance ticket! All they have to do is play 30 minutes like it is the last day in their lives (and be great of course :)
And then, I was left totally astonished - only 200 visitors showed up that evening! I definitely can say that Croatia has a strong metal fan base - but, where the hell were all the metal fans on Friday?? Hello???
Anyhow, the bands were good, you will probably not ever hear about any of them but maybe one (the winner as it turned out to be) - Eat Your Brains - I recommend to check them out on www.myspace.com/eatyourbrainsheavy. They are fantastic live.
I was photo shooting the whole (very long) night, so I still feel a bit muscle pain :))
